Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and personable Hair Stylist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hair styling and beauty, with the ability to deliver exceptional customer service. This role involves providing a wide range of hair services, including haircuts, coloring, extensions, and specialized treatments. The stylist will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitized environment, managing retail sales, and fostering client relationships to ensure repeat business. Experience with salon software such as MINDBODY and proficiency in retail math and upselling are highly valued. A strong understanding of color theory, hair threading, eyelash extensions, makeup application, and nail care will enhance your ability to serve clients comprehensively.

Responsibilities

Perform professional hair styling services including cuts, color treatments, extensions, and special techniques such as straight razor shaves. Provide expert advice on hair care routines and product recommendations tailored to individual client needs. Manage client appointments efficiently using salon software like MINDBODY and handle front desk duties including scheduling and check-in/out processes. Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in all work areas following health regulations. Engage in retail sales by upselling products such as hair care items, cosmetics, nail care products, and accessories. Stay current with industry trends and techniques through ongoing education and mentoring opportunities. Assist with store management tasks when needed, including inventory management and merchandising. Build strong relationships with clients through excellent communication skills to foster loyalty and encourage repeat visits. Offer additional beauty services such as makeup application, nail care, and hair threading to provide comprehensive beauty solutions.

Qualifications

Valid cosmetology or barbering license required; additional certifications in eyelash extensions or nail care are a plus. Proven experience in hair styling with expertise in color theory, hair extensions, eyelash extensions, and makeup application. Knowledge of salon software systems like MINDBODY for booking and client management. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clients. Ability to perform sanitation procedures meticulously to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff. Experience in retail sales, upselling techniques, store management, and retail math preferred. Excellent communication skills combined with a professional appearance and demeanor. Ability to mentor junior staff members or apprentices is desirable but not required. Pay: $18.00 - $28.02 per hour
