Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and organized Gym Assistant to support daily operations at our fitness facility. The ideal candidate will assist members, manage retail sales, and ensure a welcoming environment. This role requires excellent communication skills, customer service expertise, and the ability to handle various retail tasks. Bilingual abilities and prior experience in retail or grocery store settings are a plus. The Gym Assistant plays a vital role in enhancing member experience and maintaining smooth facility operations.

Responsibilities

Greet members and visitors with professional phone etiquette and friendly demeanor Assist members with product demos, memberships, and service inquiries Manage POS transactions, including cash handling and retail sales Upsell gym memberships, personal training packages, or retail products to enhance member engagement Maintain merchandising displays and stock shelves with gym merchandise and supplies Perform stocking duties to ensure availability of products and equipment Support the checkout process with cashiering duties using POS systems Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions and resolving concerns promptly Assist in organizing promotional events or product demonstrations within the gym environment Ensure cleanliness and organization of retail areas and common spaces

Requirements

Previous supervising experience or retail sales background preferred Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; bilingual abilities are a plus Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering, and basic retail math calculations Knowledge of grocery store or retail environment is advantageous Ability to handle cash handling accurately and responsibly Excellent customer service skills with a professional phone manner Basic math skills for sales transactions and inventory management Ability to work well in a team environment and adapt to a fast-paced setting Prior experience in merchandising, stocking, or product demos is beneficial

Pay: From $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 - 20.0 per week

Work Location: In person
