Job Description

Mission Objectives ? The Technical Writer supports the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) by developing clear, accessible documentation and training materials that enable effective use of complex IT systems and business processes. This role produces user guides, SOPs, job aids, training modules, and knowledge base articles in compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards and Treasury policy. This position is essential to driving user adoption, operational readiness, and consistent, audit-ready communication throughout the organization.


[Position Responsibility Summary]


Document current and future-state processes using standard process modeling techniques and clear swimlane diagrams Plan and facilitate elicitation sessions?interviews, workshops, observation, surveys, and document analysis?to capture needs and objectives Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements and success criteria in coordination with Requirements Analysis personnel Define KPIs and measurement plans; monitor and report effectiveness of implemented documentation/communication changes Provide technical writing support during the design, implementation, and testing of new or enhanced processes; capture feedback and iterate Create and maintain SOPs, KBAs, wikis, process maps, and job aids; ensure timely updates (PWS Maintain collaboration sites, dashboards, and workspaces; create channels, pages, lists, libraries, workflows, and alerts Apply site governance, metadata tagging, version control, and least-privilege access across repositories Build reports, dashboards, and executive briefings using Excel, Power BI, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint Assist with integration and data reporting across ITS tools and systems; validate data quality Configure and maintain digital forms and automated workflows to streamline routine business processes Facilitate working sessions; capture decisions and actions; drive timely publication and distribution of materials.. Ensure all artifacts and visuals meet accessibility requirements and are stored in secure, accessible repositories * Employ recognized BA techniques such as process decomposition, value stream mapping, root cause analysis, and prioritization matrices to inform recommendations
