The Oregon Garden is a beautiful 130-acre botanical garden located in Silverton, Oregon. We are seeking a new Guest Services Manager to oversee our Visitor Center operations and provide our guests with a stellar customer service experience.
This is a full-time position with the expectation of 40 hours a week, with a five day work schedule, exact hours to be determined based on candidate availability and Garden needs. Weekend, evening and holiday work required on occasion.
Responsibilities and Duties
Hire, train, schedule and otherwise manage Guest Services staff and volunteers.
Purchase product for the Gift Shop and Cafe and manage inventory, including online store, with the aim of increasing sales revenue.
Code and submit invoices for payment, generate and adhere to annual budget for staffing, supplies and product purchases.
Manage all payments collected through the Visitor Center, including till counts, bank deposits and daily sales reports.
Ensure the Visitor Center is kept clean and tidy, product is merchandised and artfully displayed.
Process and collect payment for purchases made at the Visitor Center via cash, credit/debit card, check or gift certificate as well as accept and track coupon use.
Warmly welcome all visitors to The Oregon Garden and serve as a representative of the organization, and answer guest questions in person and over the phone.
Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of Garden events, layout, history, areas of interest, etc and proactively communicate this information to visitors.
Work with Guest Services staff to provide coverage and support for public and private events as needed.
Attend regular staff meetings and check-ins with Executive Director.
Other duties as assigned.
