About the Role


The Lu?au Bus Escort / Guest Experience Host is responsible for welcoming guests at Waik?k? pickup locations, supporting check-in and ticket verification, and delivering a warm, engaging experience during transportation to Ko Olina. This role blends

guest service, cultural storytelling, logistics coordination, and on-site host support

.
Bus Escorts serve as the

first and last point of contact

for many guests and are essential in creating a smooth, informed, and memorable journey before, during, and after the l??au.

Core Responsibilities - Transportation & Pre-Arrival



Meet guests at designated

Waik?k? pickup locations

Welcome guests warmly and establish a positive first impression Conduct

pre-check-in duties

, including ticket or guest list verification Assist with boarding, seating coordination, and headcounts Communicate trip expectations, timing, and arrival information Provide

engaging narration and cultural context

during transit, including Hawaiian history, customs, geography, and l??au overview Answer guest questions and assist with accessibility or special needs Coordinate with drivers and operations leadership regarding timing or issues

Core Responsibilities - On-Site Support (Ko Olina)



Escort guests upon arrival and support smooth disembarkation Coordinate handoff to front-of-house hosts and check-in teams Support

host and greeter roles

during the event as assigned Assist with guest flow, directions, seating guidance, and general guest services Support VIP or special-occasion guests as directed Act as a calm, knowledgeable guest resource throughout the event Escalate guest concerns to Team Captains or Operations leadership when needed

Core Responsibilities - Return Transportation



Coordinate guest regrouping and boarding for

return buses to Waik?k?

Conduct headcounts and confirm all guests are accounted for Communicate departure timing and expectations clearly Ride the bus back to Waik?k? and assist with guest questions or needs during transit Provide a warm, professional closing experience for guests

Lu?au-Specific & Resort-Level Expectations



Deliver storytelling and guest interaction in a respectful, engaging, and culturally informed manner Maintain a polished, calm, and professional presence consistent with a resort environment Anticipate guest needs before being asked, particularly related to comfort, clarity, and timing Be aware that many guests are visiting Hawai?i for a special occasion and expect elevated service Maintain discretion regarding guest information, schedules, and operations Represent Hawaiian Council with professionalism, warmth, and aloha-driven hospitality

Key Skills & Qualifications



Prior experience in guest services, tour guiding, hospitality, or event hosting preferred Strong public-speaking and communication skills Comfort speaking to groups and engaging diverse audiences Knowledge of Hawaiian culture, history, and local geography (or willingness to learn) Ability to manage guest logistics calmly and confidently Strong situational awareness and problem-solving skills Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor

Work Environment



Transportation-based role combined with on-site event support Outdoor evening event setting in

Ko Olina, West O?ahu

High guest interaction environment Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required
