The overall function of this position is to serve as grounds guard at DOTD District 58 Headquarters. This position is located in District 58, Unit 701 and reports directly to the Facility Maintenance Manager.


Minimum Qualifications

No experience or training is required.



NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.



Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.



Applicants may be required to possess a current Louisiana driver's license.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

Serve as grounds guard and routinely make rounds during assigned shift in order to safeguard equipment and materials. Respond to various emergencies by promptly reporting incidents to the proper authorities; receive and route calls to the proper authorities. Perform miscellaneous custodial duties and dispense fuel to work trucks.

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type:

This position may be filled as probational or a job appointment. A current DOTD employee may accept a detail to special duty, probation, promotion, lateral, or voluntary demotion.

Career Progression:

This position does not participate in a CPG and will be filled as a Guard.

Work Schedule:

Shifts are 4:00 PM to midnight, Monday - Friday, noon to midnight on Saturday.

Compensation:
