Type: Full-Time
Reporting to: Director of Strategic Marketing/Strategic Pursuit Manager
Function/Department: Pursuits/Winning Work
Position Description
We are seeking a Growth Sector Marketing Lead to support STO Building Group's high-growth target sectors. This role is a full-scope marketing position with a strong emphasis on winning work-partnering with business development, sector leadership, and local marketing teams to position our firm for success on strategic pursuits.
The ideal candidate will be both strategic and hands-on, helping to position our teams early ("from the left"), leading the development of proposals and presentations, and creating client-facing deliverables that differentiate STOBG in the marketplace. Beyond pursuit support, this role will also collaborate with corporate communications to strengthen STOBG's sector presence through thought leadership, visibility campaigns, and executive positioning.
This individual will play a key role in pursuit and capture planning for top sector pursuits-developing pursuit strategies, building compelling value propositions, and preparing for client interviews. They will oversee the transition of opportunities from business lead through proposal and presentation (partner with our local marketing teams), ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment with sector strategy.
Responsibilities:
Marketing Plan & Campaigns
Develop and implement sector-specific marketing strategies that position STOBG and its subject matter experts (SMEs) as leaders within high-growth markets. Partner with sector leads and SMEs to identify differentiators, develop messaging platforms, and create marketing collateral that highlights STOBG's expertise and experience. Design and execute integrated marketing campaigns (digital, print, PR, events, and thought leadership) that increase visibility and credibility in target markets.
Top Sector Pursuit Leadership
This individual will be responsible for tracking and leading top pursuits within STOBG's high-growth sectors, serving as a strategic marketing partner from early positioning through final interviews. They will monitor the sector opportunity pipeline in Salesforce/CRM, collaborating closely with Sector Leads, Business Development, and local marketing teams to identify, qualify, and prioritize high-value pursuits. Acting as an extension of the STOBG brand, this individual will provide dedicated marketing leadership throughout the pursuit lifecycle-developing win strategies, shaping compelling value propositions, and ensuring that sales messages are translated into winning proposals and presentations for our most strategic opportunities.
Sector Toolkit Development
Support the development of client-facing materials (sector brochures, pitch decks, capability statements) tailored to sector audiences and client needs.
Market Research & Competitive Insights
Conduct ongoing market research to identify trends, emerging opportunities, and potential risks within STOBG's growth sectors. Analyze the competitive landscape, benchmarking STOBG against peer firms in each sector to uncover differentiators and inform pursuit strategies. Maintain and update sector intelligence reports that highlight market drivers, client needs, pipeline opportunities, and competitor activities. Gather client and market feedback to evaluate STOBG's sector reputation, adjusting positioning and messaging to better align with client expectations.
