Job Description

The Groups Director will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the church's small group ministry. This includes recruiting, training, and supporting small group leaders, developing and implementing strategies to enhance group participation and growth, and ensuring the overall effectiveness and impact of the small group ministry.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities


Respond to emails or phone calls related to groups in a timely manner

Edit and help oversee & approve groups in the group database.

Prepare small group team update report monthly

Set up and assist with Group Leadership Training and Coaches Training

Manage a Sunday team to create representation at Guest Services & Growth Track to promote groups

Coordinate entry of attributes for leaders, co-leaders, coaches into Planning Center Online (PCO)

Run reports on PCO to see which leaders have not completed all steps of the Growth Track & Lakeside Group Leadership Training

Maintain regular communication with the group Coordinators, Coaches and Leaders through unity nights, meetings and training.

Supply resources to leaders - Group Leader Training Manual, Coach's Playbook, statistics, curriculum, etc.

Support in Group Leader Training

Ensure all data is entered properly in PCO

Evaluate trainings and look for ways to improve

Assist with development and implementation of plans for recruiting new leaders and coaches and leader retention at each campus

Help establish a small group structure that ensures the vision is fulfilled alongside the campus and small group staff

Collaborate with the Creative Department to generate effective promotional materials to reach the community.

Oversee Freedom Weekend

Train leaders in PCO Groups

Assisting/overseeing with curriculum approvals for groups

Partner with campus admin to manage on-campus group bookings through the PCO calendar and ensuring rooms are properly prepared and equipped with the necessary resources

Partner with Kids team for childcare utilization for select on-campus groups

Experience and Skills Required


Previous experience in ministry preferred.

Associate degree or comparable experience required.

Proven exceptional organization and leadership skills

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Intermediate to advanced level Office 365

Ability to handle confidential information

Strong attention to detail

Willingness to work after hours or on weekends when needed

Exceptional work ethic and commitment to excellence

Excellent interpersonal skills

Capable to handle multiple projects effectively
