Job Overview


The Freedom Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate part-time Group Facilitator/Therapist to join our clinical team to run evening groups and hold a small caseload.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in addiction counseling and therapeutic practices, with a focus on providing support to individuals in group settings. This role primarily facilitates psychoeducation, life skills, and process groups. The Group Facilitator will work closely with diverse populations to promote and personal growth. This is a part-time position working Friday night (4pm-9 pm) and Saturday (10am-3:30p).

*The ideal candidate MUST have experience working with Substance Use and Co-Occurring Disorders. This is a part-time position working 10 hours/week, for Friday & Saturday, with the potential for additional evening hours on Monday & Wednesday.

DUTIES:



Lead and facilitate group therapy sessions, ensuring active participation from all clients. Provide individual group counseling as needed, addressing specific concerns of participants. Implement crisis management strategies to support individuals in distress during sessions. Demonstrates knowledge of chemical dependency and addictions and utilizes knowledge and skills to assess and meet the client's treatment needs and requirements. Documents group notes in a timely fashion, as required in EMR (KIPU). Conducts process groups, educational, chemical dependency, and other groups as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:



Graduation from an accredited college or university with a minimum of an associate's degree in a human services field. A Certified Addiction Counseling Professional in possession of a valid Maryland Board of Counseling credential (CAC-AD or CSC-AD). Licensed professionals encouraged to apply: LMSW, LCSW, LGPC, LCPC. A minimum of 2 years' experience in a chemical dependency setting, preferably in a PHP, IOP, or outpatient setting. A minimum of 1 year experience running group counseling sessions.

SKILLS:



Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse groups. Proficient in group counseling techniques and crisis management strategies. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with participants and team members. Ability to create a safe, inclusive environment that encourages open dialogue among group members. Ability to work as a team member, demonstrating maturity under stress and objectivity. Demonstrates the ability to problem solve and apply group learning techniques as well as team building, planning and organizing.

PAY:



Between $25-$50/hour, compensation will vary depending on experience, education, and credential, as well scheduling flexibility.
