Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Groundsman/Flagger to join our construction team in Mississippi. This role involves ensuring the safety of all personnel and the public on active construction sites by flagging obstacles along power line right of ways and communicating with a helicopter trimming crew. The ideal candidate will have experience with operating 4wd trucks, utv, construction site procedures, and various tools. This position offers an opportunity to travel and work outside gaining valuable work experience in the right of way maintenance field. Transportation, hotels and per diem provided. Up to 6 days per week with up to 60 hours.

Duties

Flag obstacles in right of way that would come in contact with saws. Assist with the setup and signage if needed. Operate equipment such as trucks, utvs, and chainsaws as needed. Support construction activities with communication and site preparation. Conduct utility locating Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency Collaborate with team members to ensure project timelines are met while adhering to safety protocols Monitor site conditions continuously and report any hazards or issues promptly

Skills

Proven experience in related field Strong understanding of construction site procedures and safety standards Experience with identifying and working around underground utilities a plus Construction site experience is preferred Excellent communication skills for flagging signals and coordinating with team members Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods Prior experience as a flagger or in traffic control is a plus
This position requires a focus on safety, teamwork, and operational efficiency. Candidates should be prepared to work in dynamic environments while maintaining high standards of safety compliance.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 - 60.0 per week
