Grounds Maintenance Associate



Join Chesapeake Plywood as a Grounds Maintenance Associate, where you'll play a key role in keeping our facility safe, clean, and operating at its best. From maintaining outdoor grounds to supporting light facility repairs and seasonal projects, your work directly supports our people, our operations, and our ability to deliver for customers.

This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in their work, notices the details others miss, and enjoys hands-on, physical tasks. You'll work independently at times, collaborate closely with Operations and Maintenance teams, and step in where support is needed to keep things running smoothly

Position Overview



Hours:



Full-Time Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Position Requirements

Position Responsibilities



Grounds & Landscape Maintenance



Perform routine landscaping and grounds upkeep including weeding, raking, pruning, and debris removal Maintain safe outdoor areas by filling sinkholes, clearing stones, and addressing uneven surfaces Install, repair, and maintain fencing, gates, and exterior structures Handle daily trash removal and maintain clean exterior and interior common areas Participate in snow removal to keep walkways and parking areas safe and accessible

Facility & Structural Maintenance



Perform basic carpentry, painting, masonry, and maintenance work. Assist with concrete and blacktop repairs for walkways and parking areas Clean and reset work areas after maintenance or small construction projects Complete weekly wipe-downs of common surfaces as directed

Operational Support



Provide assistance to the Construction Foreman with various projects as assigned. Maintain an organized inventory of maintenance tools and outdoor equipment. Assist Operations Support Supervisor in keeping warehouse supplies stocked and organized.

What We're Looking For



Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean, safe environment Ability to work independently and manage daily responsibilities without constant supervision Comfortable performing physical, outdoor, and labor-intensive work in varying weather conditions Basic experience with groundskeeping, landscaping, or facility maintenance preferred Ability to safely operate tools and equipment (forklift training provided if needed) Adaptable, reliable, and willing to jump in where help is needed Safety-focused mindset and respect for shared spaces and equipment
