The Grooming Supervisor oversees the summer and winter staff and operates heavy construction equipment and/or snow grading equipment with attachments and accomplishes assigned job requests with minimal direct supervision. This person understands objectives of job functions, knows capability of equipment and completes assignments in a safe, efficient and acceptable manner. Additionally, the Grooming Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Senior Manager of Slope in all functions and quality control of grooming and summer operations.
Job Responsibilities:
Supervise and assist with maintenance of ski trails, lift areas, half pipes, and terrain features.
Operate and oversee operation of grooming equipment and over-snow vehicles with various attachments.
Ensure compliance with company, manufacturer, OSHA, and Alterra Snow Science policies and safety procedures.
Perform and supervise equipment inspections, maintenance, and daily operational checks.
Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas; ensure all safety devices are used properly.
Complete and supervise logs for maintenance, fueling, and grooming operations.
Attend safety meetings and maintain required operational and safety records.
Adjust grooming plans and work schedules based on weather, snowmaking, and surface conditions.
Monitor and document employee performance; provide coaching or discipline as needed.
Perform other related duties as required.
Driving:
Have a valid Driver's license and ability to pass the Snowshoe Driving Program
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Experience:
3+ years of experience in the field.
