ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The primary responsibilities and duties of the Grocery Supervisor are, but not limited to:


Hire, train and mentor produce department associates. Suggest changes to inventory and pricing within the grocery department. Provide premier customer service, including welcoming and responding to questions. Ensure associates are following safety/health standards. Oversee the preparation of produce for display. Confirm that routine price changes and price tags are updated. Provide information to customers on the varieties of produce and their qualities. Maintain the produce department inventory at levels set with the Store Manager ("SM"). Regularly check that produce is trimmed, cleaned and marked down as necessary. Seek out and assist customers to provide product information assistance when not busy with other customers. Ensure produce department remains properly faced and fronted throughout the day. Rotate produce regularly - F.I.F.O. Any other duties as assigned by the GDM, or manager in charge.

Pay rate starts @ $15

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of a High School Diploma or General Educational Development ("GED").

Experience:

Minimum three year's experience in grocery, frozen food, dairy and produce retail, preferably in the organic and natural foods industry. At least one year's supervisory and buying experience * Operating a cash register and processing payments.
