Job Summary:
The Grant Writer will research, develop, and prepare compelling grant proposals to secure funding for healthcare programs, services, and initiatives. This role requires strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex medical and programmatic information into clear, persuasive narratives for diverse funding audiences.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Identify and research healthcare-related funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and corporate sponsors.
Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals, letters of intent, and supporting documents tailored to each funder's requirements.
Collaborate with staff, department directors, and administration to gather data, patient impact stories, and budget details.
Maintain a grants calendar to track deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements.
Prepare progress reports and ensure compliance with funder guidelines.
Monitor healthcare funding trends and policy changes to inform proposal strategies.
Build and maintain a database of prospective grantors.
Maintain effective, positive relationships through frequent communication with prospective and current grantors.
Draft other materials as assigned, such as a monthly funder update, quarterly reports and annual report.
Remain up to date on current issues relative to grant proposals.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proven experience in grant writing in the healthcare or nonprofit sector, preferred, but not required.
Ability to conduct thorough research to identify funding sources and understand grant requirements.
Excellent research, writing, and editing skills with a persuasive and clear communication style.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Strong writing, communication, computer, and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail, precise adherence to guidelines, and deadlines.
Education and Experience:
College Degree and/or grant writing training or certification are preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; visual acuity required with attention to verbal abilities and color discrimination.
Ability to occasionally lift or carry from 25 pounds up to 50 pounds; will involve some stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling, pushing, and pulling with frequent standing and walking.

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
