Delta's Global Innovation Team, The Hangar, is seeking a forward-thinking and highly motivated

Marketing & Communications Intern

to join us for the Spring 2026 semester. This internship is ideal for a graduate student (Master's or PhD) with a strong foundation in communications or marketing, an interest in emerging technology, and the ability to think strategically about business impact.


You'll help bring The Hangar's transformation story to life by supporting internal campaigns, shaping content that informs senior leaders, and collaborating with a high-performing innovation team. This opportunity offers a unique blend of corporate exposure and startup-style creativity--perfect for students looking to build strategic storytelling skills in a dynamic environment.




Content Development & Execution

+ Support the creation of written, visual, and multimedia content for internal platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, WorkVivo, Email)
+ Help draft newsletters, capability spotlights, innovation stories, and event content tailored to internal audiences
+ Assist in preparing materials and communications for engagement events like Open Houses, Lunch & Learns, and webinars

Executive Content Support

+ Collaborate with senior marketing team members on content intended for director+ level audiences
+ Contribute background research, draft foundational content, and help shape messaging for leadership-facing updates
+ Note: Final messaging strategy and delivery remain with senior communications specialists

Strategic Messaging & Brand Alignment

+ Apply established messaging frameworks to ensure brand consistency across all formats
+ Translate innovation and technology updates into accessible, business-relevant storytelling

Campaign Coordination

+ Help execute planned content calendars (bi-monthly, quarterly) under the guidance of the Communications Lead
+ Track timelines, gather content assets, and support internal distribution

Performance & Insight

+ Monitor basic engagement metrics (e.g., impressions, open rates, clicks)
+ Identify trends and provide input for improving content effectiveness

Team Collaboration

+ Participate in team meetings and content planning sessions
+ Work closely with the internal innovation team to source updates, document milestones, and promote impact stories

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)




Current graduate student (MS or PhD) in Communications, Marketing, Business, Journalism, or a related field Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to clarity and tone Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with business concepts and interest in emerging technology Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.*
Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.*
Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.*
Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.*

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS)




Experience supporting internal communications or marketing campaigns Experience in a large enterprise setting Understanding of enterprise tools like SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, or WorkVivo Bonus if you have: + Basic image or video editing skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut)
+ Experience using Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, DALLE, Synthesia) to assist with content creation
+ Familiarity with modern short-form video platforms (e.g., Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts)
