Job Summary

The Elementary School Teacher - Grade 2 fulfills the mission of Saint Agatha School by providing instruction within the framework of the school's philosophy, organization, and policies. This position will be available from early to mid January until mid-April 2026.

Duties

- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons to Grade 2 students.

- Use a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet the diverse learning needs of students.

- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active learning and student engagement.

- Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents/guardians.

- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum, instructional materials, and assessments.

- Utilize technology to enhance teaching and learning experiences in the classroom. - Collaborate with grade level colleagues and Parish Faith Formation staff in student preparation for First Reconciliation & First Holy Communion.

- Provide individualized support and guidance to students as needed.

- Foster a love for learning by making connections to real-world applications.

- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in elementary education.

Skills

- Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field. Master's degree preferred.

- Valid teaching certification or license in Elementary Education preferred.

- Strong knowledge of the subject matter and ability to effectively teach concepts to Elementary students.

- Experience working with diverse student populations, including special education students.

- Proficiency in behavior management techniques to create a positive classroom environment.

- Familiarity with educational technology tools and instructional design principles.

- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a positive school culture.

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Experience teaching Elementary school students is desirable.

Job Types: Full-time, Per diem

Pay: $125.00 per day
