CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • New employees of the Department of Military Affairs will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • New employees of the Department of Military Affairs are required to participate in a direct deposit/electronic transfer program.
  • The Department of Military Affairs is paid on a monthly basis.
  • This position is a Cooperative Agreement position.
  • As a CANDIDATE, you are required to provide documentation (i.e. High School Diploma or Equivalency, College Transcripts, ETC.) to verify meeting these Minimum Qualifications.
  • Must have a valid Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Business Administration or related field; AND Three (3) years of professional experience in construction building inspection; OR
  • Associate\xe2\x80\x99s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Business Administration or related field; AND Five (5) years of professional experience in the general construction field.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to climb a ladder, bend, twist, kneel, and crawl.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum 40 pounds.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Operates as the functional manager of Camp Blanding\xe2\x80\x99s Installation Status Reporting (ISR) program for the Directorate of Public Works.
  • Responsible for performing all inspections IAW State and Federal program guidance.
  • Receives and provides training to ensure ISR inspection and reporting actions comply with the most current applicable standards.
  • Operates as the functional manager of the Directorate of Public Works\xe2\x80\x99 Real Property inspection program.
  • Responsible for performing all inspections IAW State and Federal program guidance.
  • Generate maintenance and repair work orders that result from required inspection activity. All maintenance and repair actions initiated will comply with State and Federal facility standard requirements.
  • Develop cost estimates for repair and maintenance planning and execution.
  • Negotiate directly with vendors to secure actionable scopes of work and maintenance and repair project estimates.
  • Conducting or carrying out work procedures and activities in accordance with information provided through directions/instructions for the purpose of installing, modifying, preparing, delivering, constructing, integrating, finishing, or repairing projects, structures or products.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and data entry.
  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of facility construction and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures required in maintenance and repair work.
  • Skill in using programs, tools and equipment for building inspection and construction estimation.
  • Knowledge of Masonry, Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical, Painting, Framing, Flooring, Roofing, Concrete foundations and sidewalks, Asphalt repair and replacement.
  • Knowledge of facility materials and methods, to include plumbing fixtures, windows, wall composition, flooring, etc.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Ability to take accurate measurements.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently in a fast paced and highly technical work environment.
  • Strong mathematical skills; in relation to calculating square footages, acres, liquid volumes, electrical voltage, amperage, and wattage.
