The College of Engineering has formed the Battery and Energy Storage Initiative to establish the College as a leader in battery and energy storage research, teaching, and innovation including addressing workforce development needs for the next generation of engineers. Essential Job Duties
The College of Engineering invites applications and nominations for the Goodnight Distinguished Chair in Battery and Energy Storage Systems Engineering. The appointment to this endowed chair will organize, lead, and advance research in battery and energy storage systems and address workforce development needs for the next generation of engineers. This role is pivotal to establishing the College of Engineering as a leader in battery and energy storage systems engineering, including leadership in teaching, research, and innovation. Candidates selected for this professorship must be an outstanding tenured professor who has achieved recognition well above the criteria for the rank of professor and be considered one of the leading scholars in the discipline. Named Distinguished Faculty Chairs are known and respected nationally and internationally by scholars in their field.
