As the Global Trade Compliance Manager, this role is a key contributor for the development and implementation of the vision, long-range plan, strategies and annual plan objectives for Global Trade Compliance (GTC). The role will facilitate integration and harmonization of GTC best practices amongst all Toro Company brands and engage with and update key stakeholders through the integration process. This person will prioritize efforts to assure compliance with the laws and regulations and mitigates risk; support GTC initiatives as we optimize our network. Accomplishing goals by managing through others that do not report to this position.

The role\'s responsibilities include maintaining up-to-date thorough knowledge of international trade laws and regulations applicable to activities of the various business units that govern international trade activities according to agencies such as Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), US Customs Regulations and Canada Customs Regulations. Develops and implements policies and procedures that support and respond to governing international trade policies to ensure full compliance with US and international regulations regarding import and export of material, information, and technology.

What Will You Do?

  • Integrate and harmonize trade compliance best practices amongst all TTC brands
  • Identify and implement opportunities for automation that support GTC activities
  • Work across business units to ensure that all Toro Company brands meet or exceed all government requirements related to trade compliance
  • Lead projects and serve as the subect matter expert to support future growth of the organization
  • Support LEAN initiatives and seek opportunities for LEAN initiatives within GTC
  • Oversee the development and implementation of international trade policies to ensure full compliance with U.S. and international regulations regarding the import and export of material, information and technology for all Toro businesses
  • Develop, manage and support duty reduction programs to ensure all claims are accurate and that supporting documentation is maintained
  • Coach, develop and lead a team of direct reports
  • Conduct trade compliance training and assessments for all Toro locations and business units
  • Supports CTPAT program
  • Other duties as assigned
What Do You Need?

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements: \xe2\x80\x8b
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s of Science or Arts degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in International trade
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in supervising is desired
  • Licensed Customs Broker preferred
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Progressive expereince in import and export compliance, ideally within the manufucturing industry
  • Exposure and understanding of supply chain management desired
  • Demonstrated ablity to analyze and interpert regulations and disseminate information appropriately
  • Excellent interpersonal, conceptual, project management, decision-making, problem solving and leadership skills required
  • Strong computer skills (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Knowledge of SAP preferred
  • Effective communicator both verbally and written with all levels of management, functional staff, and government officials
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to accomplish goals by managing through others
  • Strong analytical abilities and research skills
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain good working relations with operating divisions/departments and effectively leverage resources to ensure compliance goals are executed
  • Experience developing and maintaining effective interface with internal and external customers, carriers, suppliers, support personnel, customs brokers and regulatory agencies

Competitive Salary \xe2\x80\x93 The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
