Job Summary

Join our team at the Idaho Potato Museum as a Gift Shop/Cafe Clerk where you will be the face of our museum visitor experience. Our giftshop/cafe clerk will be responsible for learning both gift shop and cafe but will mainly be working in gift shop. This position will be required to train in cafe and be able to be backup cafe clerk as needed. If you love potatoes, engaging with people, and creating a welcoming environment, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

Duties

Greet visitors warmly and assist them in finding the perfect gifts or souvenirs, providing exceptional customer service at all times Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process sales accurately and handle cash, credit cards, and other payment methods with confidence Stock shelves, process merchandise as its received Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information about shop hours, product availability, or upcoming events Maintain cleanliness and organization of the gift shop environment to uphold a welcoming atmosphere Learn and discuss museum facts and knowledge of the surrounding area with visitors Cross train on cafe procedures to act as a backup such as taking orders, preparing food, and other duties as assigned.

Skills

Basic cash handling Basic math skills for counting inventory Ability to work as a team and independently Friendly, willing to talk to strangers Basic Food Service Experience desired, will train Ability to be standing 4-6 hours Reliable and dependable
We are seeking someone to work a set schedule Monday- Thursday 9-3. 24 hours a week guaranteed, additional shifts may be available on weekends as fill ins are needed. We are open Monday-Saturday 9:30-5pm. Pay is set at $12/hr.

Pay: $12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 - 30 per week
