Role Purpose

Supervises the day to day operations of the gift shop. Directs and supervises employees engaged in sales, inventory-taking, reconciling cash receipts, and in performing services for customers. Contributes to gift shops financial growth through driving sales, managing expenses and implementing plans for increased profitability.

Responsibilities

Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership. Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals. Maintains an orderly workflow according to priorities. - maintain store's cleanliness, loss prevention, and health and safety measures. Oversees, coordinates, and performs computerized cash register sales transactions and cash management. Monitors sales activities to ensure that customers receive satisfactory service and quality goods. Provides sales coordination and problem resolution for staff. Creates an environment that engages employees and facilitates organic growth. Motivates; coaches for results; manages and ensures effective employee relations; create an ethical, non-discriminatory and safe work atmosphere.
