The Generator Technician is responsible for providing on-site troubleshooting, repair, equipment modifications, installation, and mechanical support of Generac industrial products. Training is provided for you to sharpen your skills and unlock your potential in this amazing opportunity!
What you'll do:
Working knowledge of mechanical design, AC and DC circuitry, power generation, wiring schematics, and connection diagrams
Understand components and operation of an electrical distribution system
Excellent troubleshooting skills, the ability to make independent decisions, and work with minimal supervision
Experienced in Electronics, Electromechanical Technology
Knowledge of power generation; light tower, pumps, and heating products
Spark Ignited knowledge
Travel around local area for service calls, on-call rotation
What you'll bring:
High School Diploma or equivalent
2+ years servicing and troubleshooting emergency power supply systems
2+ years diagnosing and repairing engines/controls
Proficiency with transfer switches and paralleling related to generators
Valid driver's license
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls; and talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to walk; stoop; crouch; bend and reach above shoulders. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance, waist high, up to 10 feet away. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to discern color.
