The Willmar Stingers are a long standing and respected franchise in the Northwoods League, a premier summer collegiate baseball league with teams across the Upper Midwest and Canada that attract more than 1 million fans each summer.

General Manager Role Overview



The Willmar Stingers are seeking a General Manager to lead day-to-day operations of the organization.

The General Manager serves as the primary on-site leader and is responsible for execution across staff leadership, revenue generation, operations, and overall organizational performance.

This role is best suited for a leader seeking long-term ownership of outcomes within an established and successful sports franchise.

Core Responsibilities



Leadership & Operations



Oversee daily operations of the club Lead and manage full-time and seasonal staff Plan and execute all home games and special events Coordinate vendors, scheduling, and operational logistics Ensure consistent standards across all game-day and fan experiences

Revenue & Partnerships



Grow and manage community sponsorship sales and renewals Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses and organizations Oversee ticketing, group sales, and promotional initiatives Collaborate with ownership and advisors on key initiatives, media efforts, and regional partnerships

Financial & Reporting



Manage the operating budget with strong expense discipline Track revenue, profitability, and performance metrics Maintain accurate administrative, reporting, and compliance processes
The ideal candidate is:

Comfortable owning outcomes and making decisions Experienced managing people, operations, and competing priorities Confident operating independently with accountability Community-oriented and relationship-driven Willing to work nights and weekends during the baseball season
Strong backgrounds may include:

Sports operations or administration College athletics administration Event venues, hospitality, or live entertainment Regional sales or small-business leadership roles

Compensation



Competitive base salary, commensurate with experience Performance-based bonus tied to operational outcomes Relocation and housing support available
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
