This position supports manufacturing operations through industrial distribution and integrated supply solutions, including MRO materials management, vendor partnerships, and onsite service programs.
Responsibilities of the General Manager include, but are not limited to:
Direct experience in Manufacturing (Food/Beverage background plus) with background in Industrial Distribution, Integrated Supply, Procurement, Inventory Management and SAP
Strong team leadership skillset to coach, mentor and train staff
Ability to prepare and lead high level business review meetings and discussions
Ensure profitability, growth, and operations of assigned accounts
Function as key contact between customer and DXP management
Report directly to SCS VP of Operations and SCS VP of Sales
Maintain a detailed knowledge of, and communication with key customer contacts, corporate decision makers, and location management
Coordinate/Conduct:
Monthly/Quarterly cost saving meetings
Pre-planned plant level meetings
Required periodic site visits
Periodic management meetings
Site product trainings
Achieve minimum sales growth and profit goals in established accounts
Expand program to other customer sites with SCS Corporate Development Manager using SCS sales process
Coordinate and track product conversions or substitutions for customer cost savings
Monitor monthly financials and track location profitability to include:
Compliance with established contract pricing strategy
Necessary price change per terms of contract
Maintain working knowledge of operational flows, processes, and policies
Supervision of location employees, to include:
Annual performance review
Audit operations and plan corrective actions on issues and/or personnel changes
Approval of manager's staff performance reviews
Monitor KPI's, Cycle Count Accuracy, A/R DSO's, Stock Out Performance, and Stock Levels
Qualifications of the General Manager include, but are not limited to:
Experience in industrial distribution, integrated supply, or manufacturing environments is required. Candidates with primarily logistics/freight backgrounds typically do not align with this role.
5 years national account experience, manufacturing background with procurement, inventory management and team leadership skills
Experience or aptitude managing off-site teams, operations and site-specific financials
Computer skills, including SAP, Commerce Center, Excel, PowerPoint, Word
