The

General Manager in Training (GMIT)

position at Marco's Pizza is designed to prepare high-potential leaders to run their own store as a

General Manager

. The GMIT learns all aspects of store management, including team leadership, operations, financial performance, and customer service. This role combines hands-on training with leadership development to ensure readiness for full store management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:Leadership & Team Development



Learn to recruit, train, coach, and motivate team members to deliver excellent service and quality. Develop leadership skills by managing shifts, delegating tasks, and setting performance expectations. Foster a positive and team-oriented culture built on Marco's values of hospitality, integrity, and excellence. Support a safe, respectful, and productive work environment.

Operational Excellence



Master daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory management. Ensure compliance with Marco's Pizza standards for food quality, service, and cleanliness. Learn to manage schedules, labor costs, and operational efficiency. Maintain adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards.

Customer Experience



Lead by example in delivering exceptional guest service. Address and resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally. Ensure that all employees understand and uphold Marco's commitment to hospitality.

Financial Management



Learn to interpret and manage P&L statements to achieve financial goals. Gain experience in cost control, sales building, and profit improvement strategies. Assist with inventory, ordering, and cash management to control waste and optimize profitability.

Business Growth & Marketing



Support and implement local marketing and community outreach efforts. Build brand awareness and promote Marco's Pizza as a valued part of the community.

Qualifications:



Minimum

1-2 years

of leadership experience in a restaurant or retail environment (Marco's experience preferred). Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills. Proven ability to coach and motivate a team. Basic understanding of business operations and financial management. Must be at least 18 years old with reliable transportation and the ability to work flexible hours (including nights and weekends). High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.

Training & Advancement:



Comprehensive

Manager-in-Training program

typically lasting

8-12 weeks

, depending on experience and performance. Upon successful completion, candidates are eligible for promotion to

General Manager

. Continuous career development and leadership training opportunities within the Marco's organization.

Physical Requirements:



Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 30 pounds for extended periods. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
