General Maintenance Technician II (A16): $40,918 - $61,130/yearly
General Maintenance Technician III (A18): $45,521 - $71,055/yearly

Position Description
Performs general building maintenance and repair work. Employees at this level follow standard practices that do not require frequent supervision of details.
Essential Duties:
General Maintenance Tech I:
Assists in ordering and picking up maintenance supplies.
Assists with taping and floating sheetrock. -
Assists with the maintenance and repair of floors, walls, ceilings, doors, windows, cabinets and furniture; as required moves items related to these activities.
Cleans shop and other maintenance environments. -
Maintains grounds including mowing, edging, trimming, fertilizing, pruning, raking and watering.
General Maintenance Tech II:
The above and:
Maintains and repairs floors, walls, ceilings, doors, windows, cabinets and furniture; as required moves items related to these activities. -
Tapes and floats sheetrock.
Enters work order information and tracks projects in the Automated Software System and orders materials and equipment.
Maintains grounds including mowing, edging, trimming, fertilizing, pruning, raking and watering.
Performs and/or monitors building operations and service activities including security, housekeeping, building and grounds maintenance; as required moves items related to these activities. -
Performs general building maintenance and repairs. -
Prepares, cleans, primes, and paints interior and exterior walls, ceilings, and equipment.
General Maintenance Tech III:
The above and:
Inspects new equipment to check for compliance with specifications. -
May serve as a lead worker and the related tasks. -
Oversees a preventive maintenance program. -
Cleans shop and other maintenance environments.
Maintains and repairs floors, walls, ceilings, doors, windows, cabinets and furniture; as required moves items related to these activities. -
Performs and/or monitors building operations and service activities including security, housekeeping, building and grounds maintenance; as required moves items related to these activities. -
Performs general building maintenance and repairs. -

Education:
No education required. Experience: No experience required.
General Maintenance Tech II:
Education: No education required. Experience: 2 YEARS in general building maintenance and repair or related work experience. (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent)
General Maintenance Tech III:
Education: No education required. Experience: 4 YEARS in general building maintenance and repair or related work experience. (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent)
Licenses and Certification
s: Valid driver's license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.
Competencies:
General Maintenance Tech I-III:
Methods and procedures used in building maintenance and repair
Tools and equipment used in building maintenance and repair
Methods and materials used in carpentry work
Utility systems including heating, air conditioning, electrical wiring and plumbing
Using applicable hand and power tools, equipment, and mechanical devices of the trade

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Subject to environmental conditions; protection from weather but not temperature changes
Subject to extreme cold and heat; below 32 and/or above 100 degrees for more than one hour
Subject to noise - Subject to vibration
Medium work: Lift up to 50 lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 25 lbs
Climbing - ascending/descending ladders, stairs, scaffoldings, ramps, etc
Stooping-bending body downward and forward by bending spine at waist
Pushing-using upper extremities to press against object with force to move in a direction
Pulling-using upper extremities to exert force moving objects in a sustained motion
