Jenkins Lumber -- Franklinton Hwy / Highway 25, Folsom / Franklinton, LA.

Jenkins Lumber is a family-owned local lumber business rooted in the timber tradition of the Folsom area. The company traces its local presence back several decades and is a small, community-centered operation working to rebuild and restore full mill function. We buy and sell lumber, bark, soil, and accept logs -- and we're fighting to bring the mill back to life with a lean, hardworking crew

Job Type:

Full-time and part-time openings. Immediate start; hiring now.

Pay:

Competitive; based on experience. (Pay range discussed during interview -- DOE.

)

Shifts:

Day shifts (typical), potential weekend or early-morning shifts depending on workload.

Responsibilities (typical):

Assist sawyers and machine operators with loading/unloading lumber and logs.

Move, sort, stack, and palletize lumber and reclaimed wood.

Operate hand tools, forklifts, and yard equipment if trained/certified(training available).

Mill housekeeping: remove bark/sawdust, maintain clear work areas for safety.

Help with basic equipment set-up and simple maintenance tasks (cleaning, minor adjustments).

Follow safety protocols and wear provided PPE at all times.

Other duties as assigned -- flexible attitude important.

Qualifications:

No prior sawmill experience required -- we provide training. Experience preferred but not mandatory.

Must be physically able to lift (up to 50 lbs regularly), stand, and work outdoors in varying weather.

Reliable, on-time, safety-conscious, and a team player.

Valid driver's license and dependable transportation strongly preferred.

Forklift or heavy-equipment experience a plus (but not required).
