General Laborer

Looking for a General Laborer in our Union Springs AL project. This position is responsible for performing various general labor activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Street and Road Maintenance: Patching potholes, repairing sidewalks, clearing debris, and painting road markings. Groundskeeping: Mowing lawns, trimming trees and shrubs, removing litter, and maintaining public parks and green spaces. Storm Drain and Sewer Maintenance: Cleaning and inspecting storm drains, culverts, and sewer lines. Building Maintenance: Assisting with minor repairs to public buildings, such as painting, carpentry, and plumbing. Other duties as assigned. Willing to work all shifts, including: weekends, holidays, evening and 24-hour emergency on call.

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or GED.

Licenses/Certifications:

Valid Driver's License and maintains insurable driving record.

Technical:

Ability to follow manual & operating instructions. Knowledge of process control techniques, maintenance procedures & safety practices. Ability to perform routine maintenance/repairs. Ability to work with required tools (including jack hammer, demolishing saw, etc.). Comfortable in and around water/raw sewage.

Communication:

Communicates clearly & professionally. Contributes to a positive internal & external customer experience. Willing to help others. Maintains composure in challenging situations.

Problem Solving & Quality:

Pays attention to detail. Identifies & solves problems. Escalates issues accordingly. Checks work for quality.

Managing For Results:

Works well with supervision. Takes projects to completion. Follows all company policies & SOPs. Manages multiple tasks.

This position is Seasonal with the Opportunity for Permanent

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to:

frequently lift 50-80 pounds; load, unload & move large equipment/tools; access confined spaces; continuously walk and climb stairs and ladders.
