Job Description

As a General Laborer at Dunning Industries, you will assist with the receiving, processing, loading and delivery preparation of aggregate, soil, stone, mulch and other materials. You'll work collaboratively with our team to ensure safe, efficient operations on-site. Key tasks include moving materials, operating basic equipment, assisting truck drivers, maintaining job site cleanliness, and helping with customer pick-ups and deliveries when required.

Key Responsibilities

Load and unload trucks with materials: sand, gravel, mulch, stone, custom soils Assist equipment operators and drivers (e.g., shoveling, hand-tools, assisting in positioning loads) Conduct visual inspections of materials for quality and contamination Maintain yard, stock-piles, and loading areas clean and safe Assist customers picking up materials (helping load, answering basic questions) Follow safety protocols at all times; wear required PPE (hard-hat, hi-vis vest, steel-toe boots) Occasionally assist with delivery preparation and minor truck-helper duties Report any equipment or yard hazards to supervisor immediately
Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred Ability to perform physical labor: lifting (up to ~50 lbs), climbing, bending, walking on uneven surfaces Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn safe operation of tools and yard equipment Strong work ethic, dependable, punctual Good teamwork and communication skills Valid driver's license preferred (for occasional helper/delivery duties) Forklift or heavy-equipment experience is a plus but not required
Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Rate: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour depending on experience and skill level
