Position Overview:

Kaluzny Bros., Inc (KBI) is hiring General Laborers for our 2nd shift production operation to join our team at our rendering plant in Rockdale, IL.

As a General Laborer

you will work directly with animal by-product (bones, hides, fat, and meat)

to effectively manage inbound material, material processing and cooking, and outbound material transfer.

THIS IS NOT A WAREHOUSE POSITION.

A successful General Laborer is a solution-focused self-starter that can follow direction to effectively manage their production output in a safe and clean manner.

KBI is a family-owned and operated rendering company comprised of two operations: a used cooking oil processing facility and an animal bone and fat processing plant.

2nd shift runs from 3 PM - 11:30 PM

Job Responsibilities:

Handle the unloading of raw animal material into the plant through the operation of a forklift or driving of a spotter vehicle Transfer liquid grease material between tankers

Work in a manual labor environment (including the need to frequently walk, stand, sit, shovel, climb, crouch, and kneel) during regular weather, hot summer temperatures, and cold winter conditions

Handle hot working conditions (due to cooking process), strong animal odors, and a greasy/dirty working environment

Follow the direction of the shift Supervisor and Plant Manager while staying highly organized and self-motivated Use effective problem-solving skills to minimize downtime and increase production output Exhibit a willing-to-learn attitude to effectively work between both plant sites Maintain a clean and safe working environment Be adaptable to change and an effective communicator (both written and verbal) Follow all Company safety and compliance protocols and guidelines Adhere to the principles of honesty, integrity, and respect in every aspect of their role

Minimum/Required Qualifications:

1+ years' experience in a manufacturing or production environment Ability to lift 50+ lbs on an occasional basis

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in liquid processing or rendering Experience operating a forklift and/or spotter vehicle

Pay: From $19.15 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 60 per week
