General Laborer Job description Local family owned Sitework and Underground Utility Company is seeking to hire a General Laborer for Industrial, Commercial, and Residential Projects. Assist in all day-to-day excavation and utility construction-type work. Performs manual labor tasks on projects including ditch grading, grade checking, carrying pipe, cutting pipe, and assembling manholes. Qualifications \xe2\x80\xa2Minimum 1 year experience in construction type work \xe2\x80\xa2Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, and rakes. \xe2\x80\xa2Operating a variety of equipment including hand and power tools \xe2\x80\xa2Ability to read and understand measuring tools and devices, warning signs and labels on a construction site \xe2\x80\xa2Possess basic problem-solving and math skills. \xe2\x80\xa2Work safely and efficiently \xe2\x80\xa2Load, unload, and identify materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations \xe2\x80\xa2Tend pumps, compressors, and generators to provide power for tools, machinery, and equipment \xe2\x80\xa2Lubricate and clean machinery, equipment, and tools \xe2\x80\xa2Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards \xe2\x80\xa2Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones. \xe2\x80\xa2Reasoning \xe2\x80\x93 ability to solve practical problems; ability to interpret and understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form \xe2\x80\xa2Must function well as part of the overall team \xe2\x80\xa2Assist others on the project wherever needed.
