Job Description

The Field Superintendent manages the field installation process on assigned projects, including delivery and erection of all precast components. They are responsible for high-level coordination at job sites and equipping their teams with the tools needed to successfully complete their installs. They do this while ensuring that the company exceeds customer's expectations, maintaining costs, and ensuring the highest degree of safety.

Review take offs and develop a thorough understanding of project specifications, schedules, and special project requirements. When required, attend special turn-over and/or drafting meetings between estimating, drafting, project management, and operations. Schedule and conduct a kickoff meeting (or telephone call) with the client to establish themselves as the "point person" for the project. Ensure that the customer understands the installation access plan. Proactively manage field installation process to maximize efficiency and ensure that actual costs experienced are below the costs estimated at bid. Maintain a high level of expertise with the company's job cost system. Provide install sequences ahead of production to allow for proper planning and scheduling of product. Coordinate with Field Manager and Field Coordinator for shipping sequences and load counts. Review engineering & production status of projects weekly and update any schedule changes on projects accordingly. Conduct field checks prior to installation which include review of dimensions, access, site readiness, planning with other trades, etc. Review and approve hours & equipment costs on site. Compare costs to estimate and communicate with estimating whenever discrepancies are found. Assist crews as needed in installation process with hands-on support Provide site documentation related to install when needed such as site-specific safety plans, material submittals, critical lift plans, and others. Maintain key subcontractor relationships; crane, welding, installation, grouting, caulking. Maintain professional, cooperative relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, and customers. Ensure Mid-States Concrete Industries safety procedures and policies are followed, and all required audits are completed. Collaborate with Safety Team to proactively address safety opportunities, draft training programs, and train teams. Provide ongoing training & calibration of field foremen & crews High School Diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license and insurable driving record 2-5 years of construction experience * Computer skills, including at least Word, Excel and one or more project management systems.
