Lawson Rigging and Fabrication is looking for motivated individuals to join our team. This role is a great entry point into the millwright and industrial construction trades, with hands-on experience and opportunities for advancement.
Key Responsibilities
Support Crew Operations:
Assist millwrights and crew with machinery installation, maintenance, and repair on industrial sites such as factories and construction zones.
Equipment Setup:
Help assemble, install, and align machinery per blueprints and technical specifications.
Material Handling:
Safely move heavy equipment using hand tools, forklifts, cranes, and other machinery.
Site Maintenance:
Maintain clean, organized work areas and assist in routine machinery upkeep.
Troubleshooting:
Help identify and repair mechanical issues.
Safety:
Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE to maintain a secure work environment.
Skill Development:
Learn from experienced millwrights and expand your technical capabilities.
Qualifications
Experience:
2+ years in industrial construction.
1+ year of welding, fabrication, or rigging experience.
Skills:
Proficiency with hand tools.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Good physical stamina.
Requirements:
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Must meet all State of Iowa and Federal hiring requirements.
Willingness to travel frequently and work at heights.
Physical Demands
Regular climbing, standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, and walking.
Ability to lift/move 50-75 pounds.
Work primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise levels (PPE provided).

Compensation & Travel Benefits
Per Diem:
$55/day for food and beverages while traveling.
Lodging:
Hotel accommodations covered by the company.
