Job Summary:




The Gates / Access Control Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of gates, access control systems, and related electrical components. This role is vital to ensuring secure and reliable entry systems for residential and commercial properties. The ideal candidate will have experience with gate operators, low-voltage wiring, and access control equipment and will demonstrate strong technical and customer service skills.


Essential Job Duties:

Install, program, and maintain gate operators, access control panels, sensors, keypads, and related systems.



Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues involving motors, wiring, control boards, and safety devices.



Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure systems function properly and meet safety standards.



Use hand and power tools, voltmeters, and diagnostic equipment to test and repair system components.



Pull, run, and terminate low-voltage wire and conduit for new installations or upgrades.



Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and manufacturer instructions.



Document all work completed using company-supplied devices and submit reports in a timely manner.



Maintain inventory of commonly used parts and supplies.



Provide excellent customer service on-site, clearly explaining system operations and answering questions.



Collect payment upon job completion when required.



Follow all D&D Garage Doors safety policies and procedures.


Essential Job Skills/Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or electrical training is a plus.



Valid state driver's license and ability to drive a company vehicle.



Ability to lift up to 40 pounds overhead.



Experience with gate systems, access control equipment, and low-voltage electrical wiring is preferred.



Ability to read technical diagrams and troubleshoot complex systems.



Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions.



Capable of physical activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.



Strong customer service and communication skills.



Ability to work independently and complete tasks efficiently.
