The City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department is seeking a part-time Gardener supporting the horticulture team in Parks Maintenance District 4 maintaining beautiful and welcoming public spaces. This hands-on role is perfect for someone who has a passion for horticulture, enjoys working outdoors, values teamwork, and takes pride in creating exceptional park experiences that enhance the lives of Raleigh residents. About You: You're a self-starter with a strong work ethic and a love for horticulture. You enjoy working with your hands, being outside, and contributing to the beauty and functionality of public spaces. You're dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team. You bring a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow in your role. The ideal candidate will be passionate about understanding good horticultural and maintenance practices, including weeding, watering, proper pruning, soil preparation, planting, invasive plant removal, debris and trash removal, and assisting with herbicide applications. However, the minimum hours are 15 hours per week and the maximum allotted hours for this position are 25 hours per week. Our office hours are 7:00 am - 3:30 pm in the Fall/Winter and 6:00 am - 2:30 am in Spring/Summer.
