Job Description

Under direction, repairs, services, and performs major and minor repairs to Mountaire automobiles, trucks, farm equipment, tractors, forklifts and other power-driven equipment. This is the entry level class in the Fleet Mechanic series. This class is distinguished from the Diesel Mechanic by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned to workers in this series. Position responsibilities include: Successful candidate must be a qualified professional with 3-5 years experience as a diesel mechanic and refrigeration experience preferred and must possess a high school or equivalent diploma. Must be able to work in a group environment, accepting assignments from the superintendent in addition to working on their own. An acceptable valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license is required and a CDL is preferred. Duties: The duties of this position include but are not limited to making routine repairs, both general and technical, and emergency repairs on truck, tractor and passenger cars. Must be able to determine the root cause for malfunction of equipment. All other duties as assigned by management. PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to stand on concrete surfaces up to four continuous hours within a minimum of eight hours per shift, able to work lying on the ground and up to 14\xe2\x80\x99 on a ladder. Must be able to lift 80 pounds, flexibility with repetitive hand movements and be able to work in all weather conditions and extremes. - 2nd Shift (2pm-12am or 3rd Shift (10pm-8am) available
