WORKING HOURS AND LOCATION
This position would be seasonal (September through April). Hours would vary (Monday through Sunday) depending on scheduled leagues/programs for the Men\'s, Women\'s and Coed Volleyball Programs. Hours would generally be Monday through Friday between 6:00pm and 10:00pm, and Sundays between 2:00pm and 6:00pm. Position would typically be working at Community School Gyms, such as Dzantik\'i Heeni Middle School and/or Floyd Dryden Middle School.

Typical Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for:
  • Referee adult volleyball matches for Men\'s and Women\'s and Coed Volleyball leagues.
  • Opening and closing facility when needed for scheduled programs.
  • Assists gym users with equipment needs and supervises participants of facility to ensure safety.
  • Explain and enforce facility rules and restrictions to participants.
  • Inspect facility for cleanliness and conduct daily safety checks on equipment used.
  • Complete accident and incident reports as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Adult games officials are responsible for ensuring that players follow the rules of the game. They review the rules and regulations to ensure the game is conducted properly.

Adult games officials ensure the safety of all participants by watching for unsafe behavior; enforcing league rules; and stopping play when behavior of the players or conditions are unsafe.
Adult games officials also act as teachers, (i.e. how to set-up equipment correctly), explain calls to players, and explain rules to players and managers.

Minimum Qualifications

Prior experience in basketball, soccer, and/or volleyball as a scorekeeper, official, coach, or player.
Other: Not less than 14 years of age at time of appointment.

Supplemental Information

A Department of Labor Minor Work permit must be submitted for anyone under 18.
