GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Performs skilled complex electronics technical support work. Candidate will provide customer
service and advanced technical support to conference rooms and conference facilities. Work
involves coordinating the design, installation, diagnoses, maintenance, and training for electronic
equipment in a professional conference environment. Works independently or under limited
supervision, with latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Manages conference room facilities including the conference room reservations system.
Provides audio-visual equipment set-up, troubleshooting, and advanced problem
resolution.
Light event setup including moving tables and chairs.
Manages maintenance of conference equipment, including procuring and monitoring
vendor services. Conducts condition assessments. Prioritizes and estimates repairs and
improvements.
Experienced in design and engineering of conference room systems. This includes
established knowledge in ADA and safety requirements.
Must have experience and show the ability to troubleshoot in various network
technologies, including LAN, Wi-Fi and cellular networks.
Provides tech support for computers/notebooks (within the context of conference room
functions), wifi, projectors, internet video streaming, A/V equipment, etc.
Provides training and technical assistance in the program area. Prepares and develops
training material.
Works independently, is self-directed, communicates effectively, and makes sound
decisions to ensure customer satisfaction.
Possesses advanced problem-solving abilities.
Provides excellent customer service and builds customer relationships.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from a two-year college with major coursework in electronic technology or
graduation from an accredited vocational or technical school of electronics is generally
preferred.
Three (3) years' experience in conference facility support of IT support environment or
be able to demonstrate other applicable experience that can be viewed as transferable. Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
Valid State of Texas Class "C" driver's license.
Ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure of the state of Texas.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Skilled knowledge of Audio, Video, Control, and other conference room supporting
(operating) systems.
Intermediate knowledge of construction or project management practices, including
inspections and repairs.
Skill in the use of personal computers and applicable programs, applications, and
systems, including email, spreadsheet, word processing, and database software.
Skill in using effective organizational, time management, and planning methods.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with peers, agency personnel, tenants,
customers, and the general public.
Ability to provide excellent customer service.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Skill in working in a team environment
Ability to perform as a lead while working with contractors or as a SME in project
management situations.
Ability to establish goals and objectives; and to develop and evaluate policies and
procedures.
Ability to prepare and interpret reports.
Ability to operate a state vehicle.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in both an office setting and on active construction sites. While there are no
unusual dangers involved, the position will involve exposure to dust, environmental allergens,
pathogens, and other microorganisms consistent with business activities and human contact. The
position holder must be able to climb stairs and ladders and navigate project sites. Additionally,

they must be able to work effectively with people under varying conditions, sit for extended
periods at a computer, and work beyond a standard eight-hour workday when necessary. There
may also be exposure to outdoor elements, dust, noise, and potentially hazardous materials.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift and move items up to 30 lbs. and perform tasks
requiring fine motor skills and coordination.
WORK SCHEDULE:
8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Must be able to work flexible hours during a legislative session and as needed.
