This job is a Federal Work Study, non-benefited position in the Computer Sciences Division that reports to the Dean of the division. Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a federally funded program by the Department of Education. This program provides part-time jobs for undergraduate students with significant financial need and is administered by the FWS Coordinator, and the Office of Financial Aid, in accordance with the law, federal regulations, and with instructions from the United States Department of Education.
Salary: $13.50 per hour.
Hours: Days and Hours are flexible up to 19 hours per week.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be eligible for funds through the Federal Work Study Program for the current semester at Gwinnett Technical and be in good academic standing. Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours and be able to handle confidential information. Candidates must be available approximately 19 hours per week.
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the minimum qualifications, the following technical competencies are preferred:
B or higher grade. Ability to use basic computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Forms; Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload; Ability to communicate, meet deadlines, exhibit proper judgment in selecting which questions to handle or re-direct. Prefer a computer science major.
Summary:
Under close supervision, assist with Computer Science computer labs and must be able to run a video camera on a tripod. Job will include on the job training.
