Chaminade High School has been a pillar of the Long Island community since its establishment in 1930. Owned and operated by the Society of Mary, the Marianists, the school honors its namesake, Blessed William Joseph Chaminade, who founded the order while evangelizing in post-revolutionary France.

Our 1,700 young men engage in a rigorous liberal arts curriculum within a Christian community dedicated to the education of the heart. The program includes four years of English, Mathematics, Religion, Science, Social Studies, and Physical Education; three years of World Language and Fine Arts; and one year of Health. Chaminade graduates are exceptionally well-prepared for the most demanding college programs, with 100% of graduates advancing to higher education institutions.

Position Overview: Social Science Research Teacher

Chaminade High School is seeking a full-time Social Science Research teacher to guide students through the foundational principles and practical applications of academic research in the social sciences. The ideal candidate will inspire intellectual curiosity, teach research methodology, support independent inquiry, and foster the development of critical thinking and analytical writing skills. Responsibilities also include organizing and overseeing student participation in local, regional, and national research competitions, conferences, and symposia, as well as supporting students through the submission, presentation, and feedback processes. Candidates should demonstrate both content-area expertise and a strong commitment to mentoring students.

Compensation and Benefits:

$65,000-$125,000 Full health, dental, and retirement coverage

Required Qualifications:

Relevant Master's Degree of higher Experience working in a successful research program

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience Experience leading a successful research program
