Job Summary - Contract Mental Health Professional (1099)

Location: Remote and/or In-Person | Flexible Schedule | Independent Contractor

Breathe Therapy Services is a private mental health practice dedicated to meeting clients where they are. We believe in the power of genuine connection--offering support, guidance, and empathy to clients throughout every step of their mental health journey. We are currently seeking a passionate and driven licensed clinician (1099 contractor) to provide individual, family, and couples counseling services.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and genuinely empathetic. As clients navigate their own challenges, their therapist should be someone who truly values overall mental wellness and comes from a place of curiosity, warmth, and care. We are also looking for clinicians who can assert themselves, receive and provide feedback, and are willing to grow.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling from an accredited institution

Licensed or Associate Licensed Mental Health Professional

in North Carolina (Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor-LCMHC; Licensed Clinical Social Worker-LCSW; Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-LMFT) Associate clinicians

must have clinical supervision

in place or be open to obtaining supervision within the practice Minimum of

1 year of clinical experience

(internship or post-graduate) working with individuals, couples, or groups Self-motivated, organized, and able to

manage time and responsibilities independently

Strong clinical judgment and understanding of ethical and legal guidelines in mental health practice Willingness to

receive ongoing feedback and grow

as a professional Comfortable working with

diverse populations

and presenting issues, including but not limited to trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges Ability to

challenge clients in a compassionate and assertive

way when clinically appropriate Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Familiarity with or willingness to learn

electronic health records (EHR)

and telehealth platforms Must carry or be willing to obtain

Responsibilities:

Provide

individual or couples therapy

in alignment with your licensure level and scope of practice Maintain a

consistent caseload

(specific client load to be determined based on availability and licensure) Conduct

intakes, assessments, treatment planning, and progress evaluations

Maintain

accurate, timely, and clinically sound documentation

for all sessions and client interactions Engage in

clinical supervision

as required (for associate clinicians), and seek out consultation when needed Attend

optional team meetings

or trainings to support professional development Demonstrate ongoing

personal and professional growth

, including openness to feedback and learning Collaborate with other providers (e.g., psychiatrists, schools, physicians) as appropriate, while maintaining client confidentiality Uphold Breathe Therapy Services' values by approaching all work with

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $42.00 - $52.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
