We are currently searching for a dynamic

ONSITE

Full -Time Accountant I (Accounting AP Specialist)

to join our Credit Union family. This position will be based at our

Pembroke Pines location

In this position you will:

Handle a myriad of accounting functions to include but not be limited to: processing and posting all invoices in a timely manner; issuing A/P checks to appropriate managers for verification and signature; resolving A/P exceptions daily to ensure invoices are ready for payment; identifying, researching and resolving any discrepancies in invoicing and accounts; updating vendor record list as needed; preparing accruals, amortizations and adjusting entries needed for month end processing; maintaining Prologue accounting system for new GL's; 8) meeting end of month financial deadlines and preparing journal entries as needed. Support various accounting functions, including: assisting auditors and examiners; reviewing daily exception reports in Prologue; cross-training as directed by supervisors; handling sales tax calculations, submissions, and documentation to FL Department of Revenue online; maintaining CDA worksheets; assisting with IRS annual reporting for 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC and reviewing A/P checks register. Assist other team members in conducting primary electronic account reconciliations. Support Accounting department with administrative tasks: data entry, file organization, invoice sorting, and file maintenance. Backup other Accountant I staff as needed. Other duties as assigned.

To be considered you will need:

High School graduate or GED equivalency required. Associate's degree required. Bachelor' degree preferred. Minimum: Minimum of 3 years of related experience in business accounting/finance. Working directly for a Financial instiution preferred. Strong AP/Accounting experience. Effective listening and communication skills MS Office applications: Word and Excel- Intermediate Must possess the ability to remain calm, patient, objective, and professional when presented with difficult situations. Must have ability to orally communicate effectively and maintain effective working relationships. Must have the ability to meet attendance standards and adhere to work schedule. Strong attention to detail and excellence with data entry.
