What You'll Do



As a

Full Stack Java Developer

, you will design, build, and maintain scalable applications and services that power FreshDirect's e-commerce platform. You'll work across the stack -- from backend services to web interfaces -- to deliver seamless, high-performance experiences for millions of customers.


Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services. Build and enhance core Java/J2EE applications and related frameworks. Develop and optimize front-end components using HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. Collaborate on system architecture, caching, and performance optimization. Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation processes. Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices. Work closely with global teams in Istanbul and New York to deliver end-to-end solutions.

What You'll Bring



10+ years of experience with core

Java/J2EE

applications and frameworks. Strong hands-on experience with

Spring, JPA, JMS

, and relational databases. Deep understanding of

RESTful API design

and development. Proficiency in

HTML, JavaScript, CSS

, SEO, and accessibility best practices. Working knowledge of

Linux/Solaris

environments and shell scripting. Experience with

CI/CD tools

, build automation, and version control. Familiarity with

cloud services

(GCP preferred) and caching frameworks. Strong problem-solving ability and adaptability in fast-changing environments. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Bonus Points For:



Experience in

e-commerce

or high-volume transaction systems. Knowledge of

Postgres, Oracle 12c+, SQL/PLSQL

, and query optimization. Familiarity with modern

JavaScript frameworks

(React, AngularJS, Ember). Experience with

CSS frameworks

(Bootstrap, Sass/LESS). Understanding of

PCI compliance

, performance tuning, or data security. Exposure to

machine learning

or data science applications.
