We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role is responsible for managing the full spectrum of accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and maintaining compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess a strong foundation in corporate and non-profit accounting, and demonstrate proficiency with various accounting software platforms. As a key contributor, you will oversee all bookkeeping activities, prepare financial reports, and support budgeting and financial analysis efforts to help drive informed decision-making.
Duties
Manage the complete accounting cycle including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
Prepare, review, and post journal entries accurately into the general ledger using software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Acumatica, or similar platforms.
Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting to ensure all financial data is precise and up-to-date.
Maintain detailed records of all financial transactions adhering to GAAP standards and governmental regulations when applicable.
Perform account analysis to identify discrepancies or variances and resolve issues promptly.
Reconcile bank statements regularly to ensure consistency between bank records and internal books.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Oversee payroll processing ensuring compliance with tax laws and accurate deductions using payroll software.
Assist with budgeting processes by analyzing expenses and forecasting future financial needs.
Support tax preparation activities by organizing documentation and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Utilize technical accounting skills to handle complex transactions such as double-entry bookkeeping and account reconciliation.
Maintain meticulous records of journal entries, account analyses, and audit documentation for internal review or external audits.
Collaborate with external accountants or auditors during audits or financial reviews as needed.
Skills
Proven expertise in full charge bookkeeping with extensive experience in corporate or non-profit settings.
Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, Acumatica, or similar platforms.
Deep understanding of GAAP standards and governmental accounting principles where applicable.
Skilled in balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger management, account reconciliation, and bank reconciliation processes.
Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable management along with tax experience related to payroll taxes and other filings.
Ability to perform detailed account analysis using 10-key typing skills for data entry accuracy.
Experience with financial report writing that clearly communicates financial health to stakeholders.
Familiarity with budgeting processes to support strategic planning initiatives.
Technical expertise in handling complex transactions including double-entry bookkeeping and journal entries.
Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail for maintaining accurate records across multiple accounts.
Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members, auditors, or external agencies on financial matters.
