Job Summary:

Davison County is currently seeking a Part-Time Corrections Officer to join our team at the Davison County Jail in Mitchell, SD. The Part-Time Corrections Officer will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the inmates and staff at the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and monitor inmates in the facility Enforce rules and regulations within the jail Conduct headcounts and inspections of inmates and their living areas Respond to emergencies and incidents within the facility Escort inmates to court appearances and other appointments Assist with the intake and release process of inmates Complete necessary paperwork and reports as required Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the facility

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license Ability to pass a background check and drug screening Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations Previous experience in corrections or law enforcement is preferred Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects
