This position is accountable for ensuring efficient operation in relation to material usage, product waste, and process parameter control to meet production objectives while improving quality, safety, and sanitation performance to maintain continued customer satisfaction.




Key Responsibilities



Operates, monitors, and documents the supporting equipment to enable efficient and quality production. The Operator assists the Line Lead in the training of all team members in safety, sanitation, and job duties in their area. Responsible to carry out daily assignments following all established department SOPs. Ensure and oversees shift compliance with safety procedures and programs. Responsible for the overall cleaning and sanitation of the production areas and supporting equipment, food safety, and following Good Manufacturing Practices protocols. Other responsibilities as assigned by Heartland Harvest management.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS



Preferred knowledge in food processing operating experience Should have working knowledge of computer skills Ability to do repetitive tasks, detail oriented, understanding of the food industry and safety standards. Teamwork and communication skills required Critical thinking skills accompanied with a sense of urgency is a must

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS



Required to use hands to handle, or feel; reach, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste, and smell. Occasionally lift/move 50 lbs. Specific vision includes the following: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes/airborne particles; risk of electrical shock and vibration Forklift Operation required.

All employees are responsible for immediately reporting any food safety, food quality, safety issues, or plant security issues to management for appropriate action.
