Frozen Manager Trainee

Pay based on experience

Described below are the major duties and responsibilities of a Frozen Manager Trainee:



Assists in scheduling all Frozen Department associates, supports their training, monitors performance, and helps to recognize and reward strong contributions. Works closely with the Frozen Manager to ensure work is delegated in a way that maximizes productivity and profitability.



Participates in developing and executing merchandising plans, including organizing attractive frozen food displays, featuring sale items, promotional tie-ins, and new product rollouts. Helps maintain clean and visually appealing cases that support sales and gross profit goals.





Assists with managing inventory levels, tracking movement, and calculating gross profits based on company standards. Supports ordering processes and helps manage waste and shrink to ensure accurate stock levels.





Supports efforts to control department costs by assisting in managing labor, identifying operational efficiencies, and minimizing losses due to spoilage or theft.





Maintains department logs and records including those related to inventory, equipment, temperature checks, and employee performance. Helps ensure department is compliant with health and safety standards.

Requirements

Knowledge of or interest in learning all aspects of Frozen Department operations Ability to take initiative and follow through on assigned tasks Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends Strong communication and interpersonal skills with customers, associates, and vendors Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 40 lbs 1 year minimum experience in grocery or food retail preferred Demonstrated leadership potential and willingness to learn supervisory skills Must possess excellent communication skills (both oral and written), and work well within a team environment

Work environment:

Exposure to cold temperatures while working in refrigerated and freezer sections of the store.
