Frozen Food Lead

Job Summary:

The Frozen Food Lead will lead the daily operations of the frozen food area. The frozen food lead will source product, and maintain excellent merchandising standards, and will openly and effectively communicate with co-workers to ensure a successful and high functioning frozen food presentation.

Duties:

Follow all policies as communicated in employee handbook

Communicate as needed with employees scheduled for work in frozen food area

Purchasing of inventory for frozen, bread, and misc. products

Ensure department products meet the high standards of the Silver City Food Co-op, with a focus on organic, minimally processed, sustainably and ethically sourced

Utilize reports to ensure adequate stock levels, and relevant product mix is maintained

Work with designated managers and employees to implement effective promotional programs, pricing, and marketing efforts

Work with designated managers on effective merchandising efforts

Ensure the frozen food section provides customers with excellent department product levels and presentation, in a neat, clean and organized retail setting (facing, cleaning, rotating)

Stocking merchandise

Cleaning

Receiving merchandise and filing credit claims

Special Orders placed for customers

Product purchasing through multiple sources

Participation with Co-op promotional programs

Effective communication with co-workers

Ensure customer satisfaction, including addressing customer problems, in a diplomatic and courteous manner

Utilize Catapult Point of Sale system to generate necessary reports

Maintaining effective discontinued and new item cycle

Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent

Previous retail experience preferred

Physical Requirements

Regular lifting of 25-30 lbs throughout the day, and up to 50 lbs on occasion

Standing, kneeling, reaching, and use of step ladders

Variable schedule, that may include early AM, and late evening hours

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 38 per week
