Role

We're hiring a

frontend software engineer

to own major parts of our governance engine and production analytics user interfaces. This role is critical to enabling intuitive real-time monitoring, scheduling, and control of our CNC fleet. You'll design and implement user experiences for both Umagine employees and our customers. Your work will touch the entire manufacturing workflow ranging from Inventory, Supply-Chain, and Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Lead development of Umagine's next-gen ERP frontend for machining factories. Build clean, responsive user experiences in Next.js/Typescript. Design UXs for real-time CNC monitoring, scheduling, and analytics. Work with stakeholders across the full manufacturing workflow (Operations, Supply-Chain, and Logistics) Ensure compliance with ITAR data handling and deployment best practices

Requirements

Strong skills in

React/Next.js

and

Typescript

. Solid understanding of frontend architecture, API integration, and state management. Comfort working in hybrid hardware/software environments. Security-first mindset for regulated environments.

Nice to Have

1-3 years professional software engineering experience (intern experiences count!) Background in manufacturing, robotics, or industrial automation. Experience with CNC protocols (MTConnect, OPC UA) or motion drivers. Familiarity with CAD, CAM, or computational geometry. Experience in startups or early-stage environments.

Compensation

Paid trial period (2-3 months)

with full-time (40 hrs/week) expectation Stipend-based compensation during the trial Upon successful completion, transition to

full-time salaried role with equity

Compensation for the full-time role will be

commensurate with experience and scope of responsibility
