Job summary:

As a Front Lead Software Engineer at Commercial Banking in Digital Platform team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm\'s business objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
  • Lead the development of front-end applications and user interfaces
  • Design, develop, and maintain complex and scalable front-end systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize features and functionalities
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications to ensure high-quality and optimal performance
  • Ensure the consistent implementation of design patterns and user interface guidelines across applications
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s)
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Expert-level React, JavaScript/Typescript knowledge, with demonstrated complex implementations a must, e.g., custom API\'s, optimization techniques, Microfrontends, and design patterns.
  • Knowledge and understanding of a modern React stack (hooks, functional components)
  • Good knowledge of Unit/integration/e2e testing with continuous deployment (CI/CD)
  • Experience with npm/yarn, Webpack 5, Babel, unpkg, Styled Components, CSS, Material UI, code splitting and building
  • Experience with responsive design and mobile-first development
  • Experience with web performance optimization and accessibility standards
  • Leadership experience in a development team
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Experience with Micro Frontends using Module Federation support in Webpack
  • Experience in working with AWS services, especially deploying applications to AWS.
  • Working experience with building GraphQL API and GraphQL client like Relay or Apollo.
  • Jest Unit testing experience
